Top Star Wars Areas You Can Visit Without Purchasing A Space Boat

  Travel
They generally attempt to disclose to us that Star Wars happened quite a while prior in a universe far, far away, yet let me reveal to you a certain something: that is false. Truth be told, Star Wars occurred on our planet Earth! It's hard to believe, but it's true!

How about we investigate a few spots you can visit where some notable and not really notable Star Wars scenes were recorded.

Hardangerjøkulen Icy mass, Norway

I needed to begin us off with the simpler to articulate ones. Anyhoo, this area is the place a large portion of the planet Hoth shots were recorded.

Redwood National Park, California
The national park was the set for the Forest Moon of Endor, where the Ewoks live. Leftover Ewoks are quite often misidentified as Bigfoot.

Ajim, Tunisia
This is also known as Tatooine. I think most people know it as Tatooine.
Royal Palace of Caserta, Italy
This location was used to film the Theed Palace scenes in episodes I and II.
Grindelwald, Switzerland
This place is where the shots were filmed for the Alderaan backdrop to put on the green screen for most of episodes II and III.
Finse, Norway
This town was mainly used for the Echo Base scenes and the small scene where Luke gets severe hypothermia and hallucinates about Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Mount Etna, Italy
The erupting lava was used as a backdrop for the battle scenes in Mustafar.

Death Valley, California
Remember how Tunisia was known as Tatooine? Well, Death Valley was Tatooine too.

Yuma Desert, Arizona
You guessed it: also Tatooine. Lots of desert scenes in Star Wars, aren’t there? This particular part of the world is where the Sarlacc ate Boba Fett.

Tikal National Park, Guatemala
Don’t tell the Empire, but this is where the Rebel base is.

Skellig Michael, Ireland
You probably already knew this, but this is the location where the Ahch-To scenes were filmed. That’s where Luke Skywalker has been hiding for the last 30 years.

Phang Nga Bay in Phuket, Thailand
This was another backdrop, so no actual filming was done on this location. The backdrop was used for the planet Kashyyyk. Yes, that’s 3 y’s. I don’t make up the names.

Dubrovnik, Croatia
While this is also King’s Landing from Game of Thrones, it was the casino city of Canto Bight in the last Star Wars film.

Whippendell Wood in Watford, England
Watford has a half-decent football squad and also a wood where some Naboo forest scenes were filmed for The Phantom Menace.
